  1. PR

This book was right up my daughter’s alley, as we go to the shore every summer. A dog who wants to chase hermit crabs. A girly poodle who acts like a princess and a sweet, go-with-the-flow poodle have to figure out what to do since dogs aren’t allowed on the beach. Cute and true storyline. As dog-owners, we could relate!

  2. DB

Both stories are very sweet. I love the princess. She reminds me of so many once homeless animals who have forgotten their meager beginnings. I can’t wait to read them to my kids, furry and two-footed!

  3. MS

My class loved listening to the stories read to them by me and the school librarian. It fit so well when teaching little ones to write their own stories.

  4. LC

Chrysa Smith has a way with words and poodles. She has created three lovable dog personalities with top dog Woody, princess Daisy and adventurous Archie. It would be great for young readers in grades two and three, whether or not they have a pet.

About the Author

Chrysa Smith

Well, let’s see—I’ve spent over 20 years as a freelance magazine writer, covering everything from celebrity chefs and luxury resorts to homing pigeons and pot-bellied pigs. Along the way, my work has appeared in publications like Costco Connection, Pool & Spa Living, Bucks County Magazine, Philly Style, Design NJ, The Cooperator, and more. But beyond the bylines, these experiences have given me a wealth of knowledge about fascinating people, places, and topics.

In the world of children’s literature, I’ve been fortunate to receive multiple Mom’s Choice Awards for excellence in Juvenile Fiction, a top pick on Amazon’s Children’s Bookshelf, a Females in Fiction award, and glowing reviews from The Children’s Book Review and Midwest Book Review. With an endorsement from The Dove Foundation, my passion for storytelling continues to grow. But just as much as I love writing for kids, I love engaging with them in classrooms—sharing the magic of storytelling and the journey behind the words.
