Who am I
So who is Chrysa Smith? Let’s see– I’ve been writing freelance magazine features for over 20 years–on everything from celebrity chefs and resorts to homing pigeons and pot-bellied pigs. In return, I not only received bylines in magazines such as Costco Connection, Pool & Spa Living, Bucks County Magazine, Philly Style, Design NJ, The Cooperator and others, I gained invaluable experiences—both in writing and learning about people, places and things.
In between writing assignments, I began watching my poodles. Turns out, they were having a grand old time, without me noticing much of it. When a steak bone was stolen, that was it. A comedy of errors within my walls, I took pen to paper and began capturing the antics. With a few children’s writing classes under my belt, I penned my first story, The Case of the Missing Steak Bone. That set the stage for a new gig—writing for children.
With a few Mom’s Choice awards for excellence in Juvenile Fiction, a top pick on Amazon Children’s Bookshelf, a Females in Fiction award, great reviews from The Children’s Book Review and Midwest Book Review, and an endorsement from The Dove Foundation, I’m immersed in children’s literature. And as much as I love writing kids’ tales, I love spending time in classrooms talking to them about the whole nine yards.
I am proud to have worked with some of these companies
